I've got a gorgeous apartment in Barcelona and I have swapped with New Yorkers before many times (14 swaps so far) and worked always very well. I have excellent references. I am looking again for the best place in Manhattan for NOVEMBER 2008 THROUGH THE END OF THE YEAR. Although I rather do just one long-term swap for my entire stay I would consider all offers from anywhere (one month minimum).

My place is in the Sagrada Familia area of Ensanche Derecho neighborhood, close to Auditorium and Teatre Nacional de Catalunya. The apartment is in the heart of the city, very bright with lots of sunlight. Walking distance from El Borne, Ciutat Vella and Pueblo Nuevo neighborhoods. Beaches, plenty of shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, antique stores and curiosities nearby. Elevator building, very quiet and lovely and helpful neighbors. Conveniently located close to Encantes Flea Market, Clot Farmer's Market and to several subway lines, bus and train stations. The apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms (both with bathtub), a large living-room with comfortable dining area, a bright small terrace and a very large kitchen. It is fully furnished with TV, CD and DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, heating and high-speed Internet connection.

I am looking for a clean and nice place to stay and someone that would treat my space with the same respect that I would do with yours. I am a very neat and considerate person. We are a married couple returning to NYC for a wedding. We have an apartment with amazing views and a fantastic location that we wish to find honest, clean, trustworthy people to swap with in Manhattan. We are reasonable flexible on dates as long as they around the wedding (13th september). These dates don�t have to be exact, as we can stay with family in Rockville Centre, Long Island, which is what we normally do. We travel alot and normally stay in hotels. However, we successfully did a house swap last year and would rather be in Manhattan at least for part of our stay.

The apartment was originally 3 bedroomed, (but we use spares as walk in -wardrobes) so 2 bedroom, newly refirbed bathroom, and beautiful views with sunsets every night from the lounge and master bedroom. We also have internet, flat-screen 40 inch, and Sky TV (satellite). We also have a sailing yacht moored in port vell, barcelona, that you are welcome to use if you hold a sailing license (if not maybe one of our friends may take you out.)

Parking garage - not included in swap as I don't have a car, but convenient if you do.

I have one bedroom apartment in Gracia, one of the best areas of the city center. Few minutes on walk to Plaza Catalun�a, la Pedrera, and also Sagrada Familia. Subway and bus are around the corner. Very quiet street, with all the stores one can need and plenty of terraces.

The apartment is really sunny, clean, cute and charming. Nice kitchen, fantastic terrace for breackfast, flat screen TV, DVD, stereo and I have my own washing machine.

We are two men in our early fifties looking for a flat exchange in New York for Thursday 9 October - Saturday 18 October.

In exchange we can offer a charming, little flat in Barcelona, right at the beach only one mile from the city centre (or our large flat at the inner lakes in Copenhagen).

The apartment in Barcelona is on the 4th floor and has a 7 meter balcony with a partial sea view. If you walk two floors up, you will have a 90 degrees sea view to the ocean from roof terrace (only used by us and our 1. floor neighbor, Nuria). From here you can watch the sunset over the roof tops and the mountains behind the city.

The flat is situated in the outer part of the little peninsula Barceloneta in an old fishermen quarter. It is only 10 minutes walk from the oldest parts of Barcelona, the quarters El Born and Barrio Gotico. The Rambla is 20 minutes away.

We live in Copenhagen, so it can be a non-simultaneous swap and you could stay in our flat in Barcelona for other periods than October.

In Copenhagen we live in a 160 square meter, very sunny flat on the first floor located on the edge of the Copenhagen inner lakes. The flat, modernized in 2003, is in a building dating from 1900. Six windows overlook the lake while three have a view to a green courtyard. From the bus stop 200 meters from the flat there is a 5-10 minutes ride to the centre of Copenhagen.

We live in Vancouver, Canada in the Commercial Drive neighborhood (you can google it - it's famous in Vancouver). We are half a block away from great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, parks and live music, as well as steps away from the bus stop. We are also a 5 minute drive from the heart of downtown Vancouver (or a 30 minute walk), a 20 minute walk to Chinatown and a 10 minute drive to the North Shore Mountains.

Our family: We are a both working professionals in our mid 30's with 3 children -- all girls. Their ages next year will be 6, 3, and 3 (twins). We have not done a house exchange before but are very responsible and will treat your place with respect.

Our city: Victoria is located in western Canada on the Pacific Ocean and is about 100km south of Vancouver and about 150km north of Seattle, USA. Greater Victoria has around 350,000 residents and is a very safe city with lots to do, especially in the summer. It's also a great launching pad for trips to the big city or a get-away to the beach/mountains, etc.

I want to spend august in a colder place than Barcelona (my preferences are Reykjav�k, Berlin and France). I'm flexible on dates, but not less than 2-3 weeks.

I can give you a room, for max 2 persons, in a three bedroom appartment. My room is small (as the flat), but very cozy. Under the lifted double sized bed there is a sofa on the ground and a desk. There is a private bathroom (only for you), accessible from inside the room. The flat is an aptic in the very center: the Raval, one of the most beautiful quartiers, and one minute walking to pl. Catalunya and the Rambla. It's close to every kind of shop and one minute to the Carrefour supermarket that is super cheap. It's sunny and ventilated, with a shared large terrace. Your flatmates will be two easy going and working girls.
